  • the other night i had the most interesting thing happen...

    i went to a college friend's place for the second time to his weekly tuesday get-togethers and met two people, a girl who had never been to this before and a guy who was a regular to it.  we were chit-chatting and somehow it came up that he had played the oboe in high school.  first off, i was pretty amazed that out of the 15 people there, there was another oboe player.  before i could even express my surprise aloud, the girl burst out with the fact that she too had played the oboe in high school.  then i followed up that i had as well... we all stared at each other in disbelief at how fate had drawn us together!

    so long story short, 3 oboe players found each other randomly one night despite the odds!  for those of you who aren't in music, there's usually only one oboe, if any, that is in a band.  so the likelihood of this happening is very small!
